Autumn Is Here!

You only get one chance to create a first impression when marketing your most valuable asset. We strive to help you maximize your price while minimizing the time your property is on the market.

Autumn is here and the leaves are starting to fall and gutters and drainpipes will start to get filled, ensure you keep these areas of your home free of debris. It was extremely hot this summer and if you are anything like us at Dowling Mayfield then you’ll steer clear of roofs during the hot season, now it’s starting to cool down its time to scan your roof for any issues, whilst you’re up sorting out your gutters it is important to cast your eye over the roof to look for problem signs such as loose or missing tiles or cracks on tiles/slates.

If you haven’t already done so, then it’s crunch time to check your smoke alarms. Ensuring they have new batteries and are in working order is essential for this time of year.

Not only is painting a great way to add value to your home and is a quick way to make an enormous difference to your house, you could potentially protect your home from any rotting or moulding that could occur during the cold weather.

With the weather still generally warm, inspecting your heating systems might be the last thing on your mind. However, it’s far better to deal with any potential issues in advance, rather than being caught out when the temperature really starts to drop. You should turn your heating system on for a few minutes every six weeks or so to ensure everything is in working order.

Identify potential structural problems, damp and sudden changes in external temperature can all cause major structural damage, particularly if you go into winter with pre-existing damage to your home.

I hope this has helped you, if you have any questions please contact our friendly staff at Dowling Mayfield on 02 4960 0499.
